Tracy Sue Walker was a teenager whose skeletal remains were discovered in 1985 in Campbell County, Tennessee. Her official cause of death is unknown but it is suspected to be foul play, and only 32 of her bones were found. Tracy was not identified until the 30th of August, 2022, and was known by investigators by “Baby Girl” until her identification.
Tracy was last seen at Tippecanoe Mall in Lafayette, Indiana, with a friend sometime in 1978. Tracy’s mother did report her as a runaway from their Eisenhower Court home twice, but the missing reports were most likely stashed away and forgotten about.
Tracy’s remains were in a garbage dumping area near an abandoned shaft mine. Only a few amounts of her remains were found as investigators believe they had been scattered by animals down the slope of a hill. Investigators also believe that whoever was responsible for disposing of Tracy’s body was likely very familiar with the area as the road she was left near would be very difficult to come across by chance.
Whilst it is great that Tracy has been identified, the person or people responsible for her death still remain unknown.
