Edna is the name given to an unidentified woman whose remains were found on the 19th of July, 1972, in a wooded area that is located just off State Road 50 and High Corner Road in Brooksville, Florida.

Her body was found wrapped in a yellow and brown bedspread or quilt, which its pattern has been described as a “Pineapple Damask” print with three square corners and one rounded corner.

Authorities were able to determine that Edna had been strangled to death just 3 to 4 days before she was discovered. She was wearing a white bra and white bikini-style pants.

Edna is described as being a white female between the ages of 25 and 45. She stood between 5′ and 5’1″ and weighed between 130 to 140 pounds. Edna also had brown hair between 4 and 6 inches long, and her teeth were not in very good condition with only six upper and six lower teeth remaining.

It is possible that Edna had been seen alive just a few days before being found deceased. A witness saw a woman matching Edna’s description with two other people inside a 1961/1962 white Ford Falcon. The group was then seen leaving the vehicle and going into the woods, before returning later with one member of the group missing. Authorities have also theorised that Edna may have travelled to the area from Alabama or North Florida quite recently.

In 2015 Edna’s body was exhumed for additional testing and to make a newer reconstruction of her face. Isotope tests revealed that Edna had been living in the US for at least 5 to 10 years, with several of those years being spent in Florida.

As of 2022, Edna’s true identity has still not been found.
