On the 16th of June, 1982, the body of a young man was discovered near the mouth of the Grande Ronde River in the Snake River in Nez Perce County, Idaho.
The young man has been shot to death. He had been shot in the left shoulder and in the neck. It is thought he had been dead for between 2-3 weeks before being found.
John Doe is described as being between 18 and 22 years old at the time of his death. He was a white male, standing at around 5″11′ and weighed between 145 and 160lbs. He had straight dark brown/black hair which was around 3-4 inches in length. He also had a 2-inch scar on his right ankle and his hands had either corns or calluses, which suggests that John Doe may have worked in manual labour.
He was wearing Britannia jeans over blue California Sun swimming trunks which had red and white stripes down the side, white socks with blue and red stripes near the top and blue brief-style underwear in size S.
Snake River John Doe has never been identified, nor has anyone ever been arrested or charged with his murder.
Do you know who he is?
