Kayla Mae Croft-Payne

Kayla Mae Croft-Payne was an 18-year-old woman who lived in Chehalis, Washington. Kayla was unemployed and led a transient lifestyle. Her friend said that Kayla suffered from a drug addiction problem, and even lost custody of her child because of it.

Kayla’s friend also said that Kayla associated with a man who had previously threatened Kayla’s life, and there were concerns for her safety. Kayla was known to frequently visit the Lewis, Grays Harbour and Piece county areas in Washington.

Kayla’s friend last heard from Kayla on the 20th of April, 2010. The last time Kayla accessed her My Space account was on the 28th of April. Kayla was then reported missing on the 5th of May, 2010.

Kayla has not been seen or heard from since.

In November 2015, police announced that they had received multiple reports from different witnesses that Kayla had died from an accidental drug overdose in Cowlitz County, Washington, shortly after she had gone missing. The reports also stated that Kayla’s body was buried in a remote, heavily-wooded area in Oregon.

The police also announced that they had identified those responsible for burying Kayla’s body, but that they were not going to press charges against anyone. Their main focus is to find Kayla’s body so that her family can have some peace.

As of 2022, Kayla’s body has still not been recovered, and her whereabouts are unknown.
